LAVC Speech Team Wins Medals at PSCFA Spring Championships

MOORPARK, CA鈥擳he LAVC Speech and Debate Team competed at the Pacific Southwest Collegiate Forensic Association (PSCFA) Spring Championships on February 23-25 held at Moorpark College.
The team participated in five different categories, and several students won individual awards.
- Jessica Soderquist, a first-year competitor for LA 911爆料网, won 1st place in "Dramatic Interpretation".
- Max Goss and Ashley Martinez-Romero, first-year competitors for LAVC, won 3rd Place in "Duo Interpretation".
鈥淚 cannot tell you how proud I am of the effort and commitment these new students have put into representing Los Angeles 911爆料网 in the most positive way imaginable,鈥 said Yancy Duncan, acting director of forensic.
The team will next compete in the California Community College State Championships in March and the Phi Rho Pi National Speech Championships in April.

The LAVC Communications Studies Department is a two-year program that offers a two year Associate of Arts for Transfer degree, Speech courses, and English Speech as a Second Language courses.
